Seventh DUI arrest sends driver back to jail after speeding in Nebraska, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man is accused of driving under the influence, and Nebraska police say this is the seventh time he’s committed the crime.

Daemon Stubbs was arrested on Saturday just after 1:30 a.m.

According to the Grand Island Police Department, he was going 42 mph in a 20 mph zone.

Officers said they could smell alcohol coming off of Stubbs.

They also described him as having bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.

He stumbled around, police said, and blew a 0.204% blood alcohol content during his preliminary breath test.

Records show that Stubbs has six prior convictions for driving while impaired.

He also doesn’t have a valid driver’s license.
