Several chances for rain but not everyone will receive it
There will be several chances for rain coming to southeast Nebraska through the end of the work week. However, not everyone will get rain each time.
The first opportunity comes Wednesday night in to Thursday morning. Scattered showers will develop along a warm front that is positioned over eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa. The key to this is “scattered” as not everyone will see precipitation. What precipitation does fall looks to be light.
The second opportunity comes Thursday afternoon. Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms will again be possible along the warm front that is stalled over the region. The best chance for this looks to be further west of Lincoln, towards the Grand Island and Hastings area. Again, rainfall that does fall looks to be light.
The third opportunity comes Friday night in to Saturday morning. It looks as though thunderstorms could develop near an area of low pressure that will pass through eastern Nebraska. At this distance it wouldn’t surprise me if there are a few strong thunderstorms. A brief, heavy downpour is possible if you get caught under a thunderstorm, but again, not everyone will receive precipitation.
