Several cluster mailboxes damaged in north Lincoln neighborhood

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are investigating a string of cluster mailbox vandalisms in a north Lincoln neighborhood.

Around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a vandalism near 27th and Superior streets.

A resident discovered cubbies in a “cluster-type” mailbox had been pried open, according to police.

The same resident also reported that a gold necklace – worth around $500 – was stolen from their mailbox.

During an investigation, an officer learned that four cluster mailboxes were damaged in the area.

Police estimate the mailboxes had $6,000 in damage.

An investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
