Several downtown Lincoln streets to close for annual Turkey Trot event

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The YMCA of Lincoln is holding its annual Turkey Trot event on Thursday and with it comes temporary road closures.
Several streets will be closed in downtown Lincoln from 7 to 10 a.m., according to the Lincoln Transport and Utilities Department.
According to the city, the closures are as follows:
- Seventh Street from P to R streets – full closure
- Eighth Street from P to R streets – full closure
- Ninth Street from R to Q streets – southbound lane closure
- 10th Street from P to Q streets – northbound lane closure
- 16th Street from R to Vine streets – southbound full closure
- Canopy Street from P to R streets – full closure
- Q Street between Pinnacle Arena Drive and Ninth Street – full closure
- Q Street from Ninth to 13th streets – westbound lane closure
- R Street from 12th to 16th streets – full closure
- Salt Creek Roadway from Ninth to 14th streets – eastbound full closure
- Vine Street between 16th Street and Antelope Valley Roadway – westbound full closure
While the regular registration deadline has passed for the Turkey Trot, those interested in attending can register late until 7:30 a.m. Thursday on the YMCA’s website.
