Several LFR crews battle fire at industrial building in south Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews battled a fire at an industrial building in south Lincoln on Monday.

Several units were sent to a building near Sixth and Calvert streets around 11:10 a.m.

When crews arrived, they saw heavy black smoke coming from one of the building’s garage bays.

LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said an asphalt roller compacter inside a garage bay started the fire.

She said the building has extensive smoke damage.  No one was injured in the fire.

About $500,000 in damage was done to the building and another $200,000 was done to the contents inside.
