Several LFR crews responding to gas leak in north Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Several Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews are responding Tuesday to a gas leak in north Lincoln.

Around 8:20 a.m., LFR was sent to the area of North 33rd Street and Folkways Boulevard on a report of a gas leak.

LFR Battalion Chief Jim Bopp said Lincoln Water System crews were working on repairs when they accidentally hit a gas line.

A video on the NOW Local News App showed firefighters and Black Hills Energy crews at the scene.

One building was evacuated in the area, according to Bopp.  No one was injured.

A part of North 33rd Street was shut down as crews investigated the leak.  The leak has since been fixed and the road has reopened.
