LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of road sign thefts over the last few days.

Capt. John Vik said Friday that seven various road signs were taken in the southwest portion of the county.

Investigators think the thefts are related as they all happened in the same general area.

The signs have since been replaced, according to Vik.

Possession of a road sign is a class 3 misdemeanor, and Vik said it’s punishable by fines or jail time.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
