Several rounds of storms possible starting Tuesday
Starting off Tuesday morning, we’ve been warm and windy. More cloud cover will work its way into the picture throughout the morning, with the first of many active days starting today. While the chances aren’t great, we have small chances for showers and isolated storms in eastern Nebraska by Tuesday evening. Chances will increase overnight into early Wednesday.
A round of storms will start from south central Nebraska and try to make a run for Lincoln by Wednesday morning. This doesn’t show up on every model run, but off and on storms will be possible on Wednesday.
That brings us to late Wednesday afternoon into the evening. Stronger storms will be possible throughout southeast Nebraska as the sun starts to set.
Because of that, southeast Nebraska is under a Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk for some isolated stronger winds and small hail possible.
Another round will start Thursday morning, this one looking to be more widespread throughout eastern Nebraska. Hints of colder weather looming in northwest Nebraska as you look at this version of Stormcast below.
Areas that see several rounds of thunderstorms will be on the higher end of totals, as per usual. But across southeast Nebraska, we are looking forward to this rain! Amounts of about 0.5″ to 1.5″ appear possible.
The 70s will stick around for a few more days through about Thursday, then a strong cold front will bring in a winter feel for the end of the week. It’s looking more like wintry precipitation will be possible, with better chances for snow to the north with rain to the south and a mix transition in between.
