Severe storms Monday night-Tuesday morning
There is a SLIGHT RISK (Level 2 out of 5) for severe weather Monday night into Tuesday morning for much of the state. Large hail up to golf balls and damaging winds up to 65+ mph will be the main concerns. Scattered storms will develop near 4pm in west central and SW Nebraska and track east along I-80 into early Tuesday morning.

Half dollar to golf ball size hail will be likely within the first initial storms Monday evening out west.
Wind gusts up to 65+ mph will be likely in parts of SW Nebraska through Monday night. Lincoln could be seeing some 50+ mph gusts Tuesday morning depending on if the storms keep their strength.
StormCast shows scattered storms developing around 4 PM in west-central and SW Nebraska, tracking east along I-80 into early Tuesday morning. The strongest storms out west between 4–10 PM will carry the hail threat. Lincoln could see wind gusts over 55 mph Tuesday morning depending on the storm strength overnight. High temperatures for your Monday afternoon will reach the lower 90s under mostly sunny skies.
Tonight, temperatures remaining in the upper 60s and lower 70s for most of us. Rain and storms will try and cool us off more into Tuesday morning.
Storms will move east late Monday night into SE Nebraska. As storms move east, they will weaken with time. Tuesday morning, expect some scattered showers and storms in SE Nebraska. Wednesday through Saturday, temperatures remaining near average (87 degrees). We are tracking a nice cold front Saturday, which will bring rain and storm chances throughout the start of next week.
