Severe Weather Awareness Week: Tornado Drill

It’s Severe Weather Awareness Week in Nebraska and the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency wants you to be prepared.

A tornado drill will take place Wednesday at 10 a.m. to start off activities.

Sirens should sound around that time, as a test.

NEMA says each family should have a plan for natural disasters.

For tornadoes, they say to avoid windows, go to the basement or lower level if you have one, or a bathroom or closet.

You should carry a flashlight and an A.M. Radio.

Your family should also have a place to meet in case of emergency.
