Battle of the Birds: Seward Blue Jays dismantle Lincoln Northwest Falcons

SEWARD, Neb. (KLKN) – The Seward Blue Jays hosted the Lincoln Northwest Falcons on Friday on the campus of Concordia University.

It started out as a good matchup in the first quarter, but the Blue Jays took flight and never looked back, winning 61-12.

On the first drive, special teams came up big for Seward.  Edison Knott came off the edge and blocked the punt.

The Blue Jays got the ball down to the 1-yard line and scored just one play later to make it 7-0.

Later in the first quarter, the Falcons found a spark from a 51-yard run by Kaiden Wood.

Just a couple of plays later, Dylan Kotik fired a pass in the end zone to Tyler Aldridge, but the point-after attempt failed, and Seward kept the lead 7-6.

Lincoln Northwest got one more touchdown off a tip drill interception by LaShawn Primes.

But Seward would not let them score again.
