Several Counties 911 Communications lines are down

Several communities surrounding Lincoln have no access to their 9-1-1 emergency line as of Wednesday morning.

Seward County 911 Communications said their lines went down at approximately 5 a.m. Wednesday.

They are looking into the issue, if you have an emergency, they say to call 402-643-4578.

Areas in Saline County, including Crete, also are experiencing a communication outage with their 9-1-1 system.

In an email to faculty, Doane University’s public safety office said to use the non-emergency number, (402) 826-4311 to report an emergency.

Gage, Jefferson, and Johnson Counties have also lost service.

Beatrice Police Chief Bruce Lang says Windstream officials are working on resolving the problem in the system.

Locally, persons in the Southeast Communications Center district who have an emergency, can call 402–223–4080.

In Johnson and Pawnee Counties, if you have an emergency, you can call 402–335–3307.
