Seward couple killed after crashing into tree, police say

A Seward couple was killed after crashing into a tree, the Seward Police Department said. 

Richard and Eleanor Roth were traveling on North Columbia Avenue when police believe Richard, who was driving ,suffered a medical episode. 

They say he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. 

Richard was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Seward Memorial Hospital where he passed away shortly after. 

Eleanor was transported to Seward Memorial Hospital and then air lifted to Bryan LGH in Lincoln where she later succumbed to her injuries.
