SHERIFF: Teen who shot man multiple times arrested in Lincoln

Authorities on Tuesday arrested a teenager in connection to a shooting in Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded Monday night to reports of someone who had been shot. When they arrived on the scene, they found a 31-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds.

The man who was shot has not been identified. He was taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to Lincoln.

After interviewing people on the scene, deputies developed a 17-year-old Hispanic boy as a suspect. Working with local law enforcement agencies, the suspect was arrested at a residence in Air Park early Tuesday morning.

At this time, a complaint is being filed with charges as an adult. When the charges are finalized, the suspect’s name will be released.
