Sheriff’s deputy uses taser on woman involved in domestic assault

On Monday evening, a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Deputy who responded to a motorist assist call had to use a taser on a woman who was engaged in a physical altercation on the side of the road.
This happened along the 3000 block of West McKelvie Road at around 6:55 pm.
The deputy stopped to assist the car, which was pulled over in a ditch, when he observed 25-year-old Jennifer Rodriquez striking her 23-year old passenger in the face several times.
According to Sheriff Terry Wagner, Rodriquez ignored commands and attempted to strangle the 23-year-old.
When the deputy intervened, Rodriquez began attacking him.
“Rodriquez kicked the deputy several times in the stomach and bit him in the right leg, she was eventually taken into custody,” said Sheriff Terry Wagner.
The deputy then used his taser to subdue Rodriquez.
Both women were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Rodriquez was then lodged in jail for strangulation, second-degree assault, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
Sheriff Terry Wagner confirmed that this was a domestic assault, as the two women live together.
