Sheriff’s office blames icy conditions for crash on rural northeast Nebraska highway

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office responded to several crashes Monday during a winter storm.

In one crash, a pickup truck slid and collided nearly head-on with another pickup on Highway 57, just south of Stanton.

The sheriff’s office said icy conditions and heavy snow were factors in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not seriously injured.

The sheriff’s office recommended that people avoid traveling until late Tuesday morning.
