Sheriff’s Office investigates string of crimes

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office are looking for the people responsible for four crimes in the county that happened Sunday morning.
The first was reported near 162nd and Davey Road. A man reported $600 worth of tools were stolen from the bed of his pick-up either overnight or in the early morning.
That’s just a few miles away from where a farmer found an abandoned pick-up missing all of it’s wheels and rims in his field near 112th and Davey. After investigating, deputies learned the pick-up was stolen from an auto shop in Wahoo just before 4:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
The reports kept coming in, Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said.
Near 98th and Adams a 2013 White Ford Pick-up was stolen from a driveway. It was unlocked and the keys were inside. The Sheriff’s Office is still looking for the truck. The license plates are VXC-999.
Keys were also stolen from a different truck’s ignition at a home near 98th and Holdrege the same day.
Wagner said it’s possible these crimes are all related, and asks you to keep an eye out for the stolen truck, as it could lead them to the people responsible.
The farmer whose truck was stolen said his surveillance video showed the truck was followed by a maroon sedan that may be connected to these crimes.
Call 402-441-6500 with information.
Wagner also reminded citizens to lock their vehicles and take all valuables inside, even if you live in the country.
