Six cattle killed in rollover crash on eastern Nebraska highway

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A semi driver was ticketed Wednesday after a rollover crash in rural eastern Nebraska.

The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. at Highway 275 and County Road H, just northwest of Fremont.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said a cattle truck was heading north when the driver lost control on a curve.

Witnesses reported that the semi was speeding before the crash.

The driver, a 35-year-old Kansas man, was cited.

Six cattle died in the crash, the sheriff’s office said.  A local veterinary clinic helped evaluate the other cattle on the scene.

The highway was closed for about six hours.
