LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Monday, Dec. 14, a mother reported that her six-year-old daughter had been sexually assaulted.

The child expressed she was inappropriately touched by an adult male a few weeks ago when playing outside a family member’s home.

The child was taken to the Child Advocacy Center, 5025 Garland St., where a forensic interviewer determined 59-year-old Rafael Lomeli, a neighbor in the area, was the man in question.

On Dec. 18, Lincoln Police arrested Lomeli for the first-degree sexual assault of a child.
