Slack goes social with new DM feature

SAN FRANCISCO (KLKN) — Slack, a popular communication tool for workplace settings, is now becoming a bit more social.
A new feature, called Connect DMs has been introduced, allowing users the ability to message any other Slack user.
In the past, Slack users could only connect with people within their organization. All participants had to be previously invited into the group.
Now, users can send an email invite to any other Slack user to start a conversation. Keep in mind, invitees do have the right to accept or decline chat requests.
Starting today, anybody on Slack can DM anybody else on Slack. It’s now a full-fledged messaging app for all things work — and it’s gonna be fascinating to see how people use it https://t.co/VsRuFkB8tT
