Slight drop in daytime temperatures but overall pattern remains above normal

Lincoln experienced its third consecutive day with temperatures reaching 80° Tuesday.  That is somewhat notable as the city averages four days reaching 80° in October.  We’re almost there are the first five days!

There are more 80°s in the forecast over the next 10 days.  In fact, if my forecast verifies, we should have another four days over the next 10.

Wednesday will not be one of those days.  A cloud deck, about 5,000-6,000 feet above the ground, should develop by afternoon, turning skies mostly cloudy.  That should aid keeping highs in the middle to upper 70°s in southeast and central Nebraska.

We’ll see much of the same on Thursday with temperatures topping out in the middle 70°s.  The only difference with Thursday is the possibility of a few isolated showers.  Most of the area will remain dry, but don’t be surprised if you feel a rain drop or two.
