Slightly cooler with chance at spot shower; warming toward Mother’s Day
An upper-level low will sink south today, sparking more scattered showers with isolated thunder possible. Most will miss out again, yet we’ll all experience a slight cooldown.
Clouds will form during the second half of the day for a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will be closer to the normal high of 72° for May 9th.
The nature of these showers will be very light – up to a few hundredths for those that see them. Here in Lincoln, chances are minimal for the late afternoon and early evening.
These showers won’t have a lot of moisture to work with as a strong low-pressure system in the Southeast has taken most of the available moisture with it as it tracks east. Meager moisture to work with will only mean a slight chance for a passing shower. Most will happen north of the interstate today.
The days leading up to Mother’s Day will be rather pleasant. Several days that you look at and go, “I can work with that.”
The second half of Sunday some showers and thunderstorms will be possible, leading into another week of almost daily chances – yet the risk for severe weather remains low.
