Slightly warmer on Wednesday; Bigger heat and humidity looms
Saturday was warm, Sunday was cool, Monday was warm – and Tuesday was cool! While there were plenty of clouds throughout the day on Tuesday, there were enough breaks in the clouds to push temperatures up to 81° in Lincoln. However, high temperatures for most stayed in the 70s.
Morning showers lingered into the afternoon for some. These showers ended up occurring mainly south of Lincoln, although a few sprinkles did occur near the capital city.
The odds of seeing a stray shower on Tuesday evening are very low. If anyone has a chance, it’s south of Lincoln towards the state line. Regardless, skies will clear out on Tuesday evening and into the overnight hours. Low temperatures by Wednesday morning should be near 54° in Lincoln.
Wednesday features mostly clear conditions with dry weather. High temperatures should be slightly warmer, in the low to mid-80s for Lincoln. The humidity will also be lower, so the air should have a comfortable feel.
Winds return out of the south on Wednesday – this sets the stage for bigger heat and humidity by Thursday. Highs on Thursday near 90°, under mostly clear skies.
We’re eyeing our next rainmaker on Friday as a new cold front approaches. This brings the chance for some thunderstorms. Early indications suggest that one or two storms may be on the strong side. We’ll continue to monitor this potential and fine-tune the forecast in the days to come. For now, know that we have a chance for some scattered storms on Friday afternoon.
