Small chance Wednesday, last chance for a while

Cloud cover and wind mix into the equation today, giving us a milder morning but a slightly cooler afternoon. We’ll start off with mostly cloudy skies through the morning, with a small chance to see a sprinkle or two move in after daybreak.

Then, expect some clearing through the afternoon before more cloud cover moves in. The next chance at light rain should hold off to the north and east through the evening,

Jess Timeline

The first potential round of light rain comes by mid-morning. This chance rides on a weak cold front, and with little moisture to work with, we won’t see much out of this. We’ll see clearing skies behind this going into early Wednesday afternoon.

Then, as the center of this low pressure system slides to the east, another chance for rain comes for those to our north and east. The chance is lower for us in southeast Nebraska to see anything out of this. Most of us will be dry through both the morning and evening rounds. All accumulations out of this look to be well below a tenth of an inch, too.

Pm Stormcast

Cloud cover in the morning has kept temperatures much warmer than the past couple of days, almost 15-25 degrees warmer. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds through the rest of the day with temperatures stalling out near the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Day Planner Pivot

Other than cloud cover, the other thing that will stall us from warming up will be the wind. Gusts from 35-40 mph are possible, especially farther west. Expect a windy one this Wednesday!

Jess Model Wind

After that, the rest of this week looks phenomenal. We’ll still be above average and in the 70s, supporting great conditions for outdoor fall activities into this weekend.

Again, this small chance for rain is the last one for a while. Our next chance for rain will come by next Tuesday.
