Smoky & breezy through Thursday evening
- Wildfire smoke from Canada will move in tonight across eastern Nebraska. The thickest smoke will be noticeable early Thursday morning. The smoke will linger throughout the afternoon and evening. AIR QUALITY ALERTS are in place for all of eastern Nebraska through 11am Thursday.
- Northwest winds will gust to around 35-45 mph Thursday afternoon and evening along another cold front.
- There will be a slight chance for some rain showers and thunderstorms along the front Thursday evening near 7-11pm. Models are keeping storms further south into Kansas and Iowa.
- Morning temperatures will be in the low to mid 40s through Sunday morning. Temperatures will warm back up starting next Monday!
An AIR QUALITY ALERT is in effect through Thursday morning for all of eastern Nebraska due to Canadian wildfires. Moderate to unhealthy air for sensitive groups. The bulk of the smoke will move in Thursday morning and thicken in eastern Nebraska by 9am. The smoke will linger throughout Thursday afternoon and evening.

Thursday afternoon and evening, another cold front will move through bringing gusty winds up to 35-45 mph across the state. This will bring more areas of smoke and fire weather concerns out west.
Thursday evening, a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms along the cold front. Models are guiding these storms more south into parts of Iowa and Kansas, but still a few pop up storms will be possible across SE Nebraska.
Tonight will be a bit chilly with lows in the upper 40s and a north breeze at 5–15 mph. Smoke will thicken across eastern Nebraska after 2AM.

Smoke will linger through Thursday evening as another cold front pushes in giving SE Nebraska a chance for thunderstorms. This weekend looks to be beautiful with temperatures in the lower 70s under mostly sunny skies. Next week, we could see a system move in bringing scattered rain chances. Temperatures will look to warm back up mid week.
