UPDATE: Parking ban lifted, snow emergency remains in effect for Lincoln

UPDATE: A snow emergency remains in effect for Lincoln as of Thursday afternoon.
City officials said the snow emergency parking ban activated Thursday morning is set to end at 5 p.m.
Where allowed, parking will be available on both sides of all emergency snow routes, bus and school routes and other major arterial streets.
Residential parking bans are not in effect, however city officials encourage residents to remove vehicles from the street to allow access for crews over the next 24 hours.
More than 70 City and contractor crews are plowing residential streets.
Plowing is complete on arterial streets, with conditions varying from wet to partially dry.
Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler has declared a snow emergency for the City.
Beginning at 10 a.m., March 7, parking is banned on both sides of all emergency snow routes, bus and school routes and other major arterial streets.
Residential parking bans are not in effect, however city officials encourage residents to remove vehicles from the street to allow access for crews over the next 24 hours.

As of 11 a.m. Thursday, more than 75 crews were plowing and treating arterial and residential streets.
City officials said once arterial routes are cleared, more crews will move to residential areas.
