Snow emergency declared in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln is now under a snow emergency.
The city declared an emergency effective at noon Wednesday.
That means parking is banned on both sides of emergency snow routes, arterial streets and school and bus routes.

By 4 p.m., the city’s 75 contracted snow removal companies started plowing residential streets.
On those streets, drivers are only allowed to park on the side with odd-numbered addresses.
The city said there are about 30 traffic signals are without power or damaged.
You should treat those intersections as four-way stops.
StarTran buses are running up to 10 minutes late, the city said.

A blizzard warning is in effect until 10 p.m.
The Storm Alert Team said 4 to 6 inches of snow is possible. Winds have been gusting up to 70 mph.
