Snow showers possible overnight Sunday, gone by morning commute

For the first half of Sunday, there was lots of sunshine! However, as the afternoon wore on, cloud cover reentered the picture and snow showers commenced for some. By late Sunday evening, many in southeast Nebraska were seeing snow.

Snow showers in Lincoln will likely be ongoing in Lincoln on Sunday evening through a few hours after midnight.

Accumulations will be on the lower side for most, likely under 1″. The one exception is in far southeast Nebraska (e.g. Nebraska City, Falls City, Pawnee City, etc.) where it’ll be snowing for a longer period of time. In those locations, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few reports up to 3″.

As of late Sunday evening, we’ve seen some heavier snow bands set up which have dropped a decent amount of snow in a short period of time. For that reason, we may see a few reports above the forecasted ranges.

Snow Accumulation Forecast Through 6AM Monday

By the time we’re waking up on Monday, the weather will be much drier. There will be some sunshine, and temperatures should be in the lower-20s in Lincoln. Please give yourself some extra time for your morning commute as road conditions have deteriorated quickly as of late Sunday.

Sunday Night Forecast

Monday will be a sun-filled day, although a bit on the cooler side. Highs should be near 40° in Lincoln.

Monday Forecast

Temperatures warm into the 50s on Tuesday afternoon, and it’ll be another dry day. However, our next weather maker should approach by mid-week. We’re looking at increasing clouds on Wednesday with the chance for snow starting in the evening. That snow chance could last into Thursday.
