Snowbiwan Kenobi, Scoopy Doo headline Lincoln’s Name That Snowplow contest winners

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department on Monday announced the winners of the 2025 Name That Snowplow contest.
The winning names in order of vote totals are as follows:
- Scoopy Doo – submitted by Macaria Torres, 226 votes
- BrinestonePlowboy – submitted by Myles Andrews, 190 votes
- Snowbiwan Kenobi – submitted by Reba Bohlender, 175 votes
- Teddy Snowsevelt – submitted by Ethan Post, 166 votes
- SnowbrahamLincoln – submitted by Audrey Post, 164 votes
- Blizzard Wizzard – submitted by Jan Anderson, 160 votes
- Plowasaurus Rex – submitted by Olivia Godinez, 159 votes
- Albert Icestein – submitted by Maryan Myhaylyshyn, 156 voters
Decals featuring the winning names will be placed on eight snowplows beginning in spring 2026.
“From Scoopy Doo to SnowbrahamLincoln, the Lincoln community showed up and wowed us with their fun and creative snowplow names,” said Liz Elliott, LTU Director. “This contest offers an opportunity to connect with residents and visitors while sharing important information about the winter operations that keep our streets safe.”
This is the third and final Name That Snowplow contest.
LTU Operations and Maintenance team members selected 25 finalists from 164 snowplow name submissions.
Winners will receive a variety of LTU promotional materials, including reusable utensils, pollinator-friendly seeds, writing supplies, stickers, educational guides, crayon activity books, and bike lights.
“Our Snowfighters tackle ice and snow with skill and dedication every winter,” said Tim Byrne, LTU Maintenance Operations and Fleet Services Manager. “The Name That Snowplow contest gave the Lincoln community a close-up look at this important work while celebrating the teamwork and care that keep Lincoln moving.”
