Solo stove sparks south Lincoln house fire, causing $400,000 in damage

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Several crews battled a house fire in south Lincoln on Sunday.
Just before 1:40 p.m., nearly 15 Lincoln Fire & Rescue units were sent to a home near 27th and Van Dorn streets.
LFR said someone was burning leaves in a solo stove and left it unattended, causing the fire to spark.
In a video sent to our NOW Local News App by a Channel 8 reporter, you can see the area filled with smoke as firefighters battled the blaze.
According to LFR, the fire caused $400,000 in damage and the home is unlivable. LFR said the residents of the home were relocated to their parents’ house.
LFR said the blaze also caused about $5,000 in damage to each of the houses on either side.
Crews are still at the scene.
