Southeast Nebraska will experience a warm-up going in to the weekend
It is hard to believe that four days ago southeast Nebraska was in the 60°s. Feels like it was weeks ago! If you like warmer air, you will like the forecast as we go in to the weekend.
Temperatures will drop back down to the single digits around sunrise Friday morning. Luckily, winds will be light for the morning, so wind chills will be just a few degrees below zero. That is compared to wind chills that were as low as -20° Thursday morning.
Mainly sunny skies will be the rule over southeast Nebraska Friday. Temperatures should be able to climb in to the 30°s by afternoon. Winds will increase, gusting to 28 mph out of the north.
Expect to see mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies Saturday. This is the day temperatures will climb to the upper 40°s to lower 50°s.
A cold front will bring cooler air to eastern Nebraska Sunday but it won’t be significantly colder. Highs will range from the upper 30°s (east) to lower 40°s (central).
