Southwest Lincoln park to close two trails for the summer

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Parks & Recreation announced Friday that Wilderness Park will close two trails beginning on Tuesday.

Officials said the Red and Green All-User trails between mile markers 50 and 51 will be closed due to bridge work and other trail construction until fall.

The project will retrofit a former railroad bridge over Salt Creek and extend the Rock Island Trail into Wilderness Park.

The work area will be marked with an orange construction fence.

Officials ask park visitors to avoid the bridge and work areas.

A map of the affected areas is posted on the parks and rec Facebook page.
