‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ expected to set pandemic record

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The movie theatre industry was hit hard by the pandemic, more than once. Many of us were stuck at home or in quarantine. Theatres in Lincoln were forced to close, including the Marcus Theatres location downtown, Lincoln Grand Cinema.
“Challenging is the movie dates and they have been changing around quite a bit,” General Manager at Lincoln Grand Cinema, Lisa Fryda said. “Customers get so excited to come out and see their favorite films but when the movie date gets set back, it’s very challenging.”
While the theatre was forced to close, Fryda says they were able to do a lot of updates. Curbside popcorn was also a hit during the pandemic. COVID protocols have become a routine at the theatre.
“We have more time in between shows to clean, we have our barriers from guests in between, our cashiers as well and there is a mask mandate in place right now,” Fryda said.
The movie theatre industry is expecting a big bounce back in the next few days. ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’ is making its debut on the big screen. The new movie is playing on 14 screens in the Lincoln Grand Cinema. They are hoping to break records.

For those who are interested, Fryda says they still have some tickets left for the new Spider-Man movie.
