Spot shower possible over next couple days, yet most stay dry
Two more tornadoes of EF-0 rating were confirmed in Nebraska from Monday’s round of severe weather.
The first one that happened in the afternoon was on the ground for about 10 minutes near Cowles. This tornado was hard to see as it was within heavy rain as it overturned a camper and damaged some older outbuildings.
Another tornado was confirmed just west of Wymore, only on the ground for less than a mile for about a minute. There was a short damage path with a hoop building that stores road supplied along Highway 77 receiving the brunt of it, according to the National Weather Service.
But severe weather is not in the forecast for a while going forward. We’re tacking on another comfortable day Wednesday with light winds and highs in the 70s.
With broad forcing still in place and circling in the upper levels, we’ll see a couple more days of spotty activity. With daytime heating, more pop-up showers will be possible with isolated chance for some thunder to accompany it. Stronger storms that could become marginally severe (in green shaded area) are more so expected north of Omaha toward Sioux City.
But most will remain dry even with these chances on Wednesday and Thursday.
All will be dry for a stupendous weekend leading into Mother’s Day.
