Spotty morning chances for a few more days yet breezy, warm

The rest of the work week will remain relatively mild for this time of year with temperatures in the middle 80s. Mostly sunny conditions will compliment Wednesday’s comfortable temperatures/humidity.

A continued breeze out of the southeast is to be expected throughout the day, whereas gusts will be around 20-25 mph.

The next few days will each have a small chance at spot showers that won’t amount to much measurable precipitation. We may see a few sprinkles this morning early, but most won’t see a thing. Omaha and those closer to the Missouri River have the better chance to see some of this activity through the first part of today.

Stormcast

Later tonight, the Sandhills will be the scene for a few more thunderstorms into the night. These are expected to fall apart past a line from Valentine to North Platte to McCook.

Stormcast Wed Night

There’s a Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk for some of these storms to hold together enough to possibly be borderline severe with up to quarter size hail and up to 60 mph winds.

Wed Spc

Eastern Nebraska will be mostly dry with cloud cover increasing again into Thursday. Take advantage of the days like this because we’re in for a very hot weekend!

Jet And 500mb Temps

A large-amplitude ridge (hump in the lines over the central United States above) will be over our area to bring back the summer sizzle. It’ll be largely felt both Saturday and Sunday.

Forecast Next Two Days

Humidity returns with the heat on Saturday, when the heat index could be closer to 100-105°. Bleh.
