Spotty showers possible for the first half of Easter

Saturday continued the cool stretch of weather, with highs remaining in the lower-50s for most. This is much cooler than our average high of 65°.

We saw a lot of sunshine on Saturday, but you may have noticed more high clouds arriving from the west as the day progressed. These clouds will thicken on Saturday evening as our next system approaches. After midnight, skies should be overcast. We’ll keep the overcast skies on Sunday morning, with low temperatures in the middle to upper-30s.

Saturday Night Forecast

As our next disturbance gets closer, the chance to see some isolated rain showers increases. As many are waking up for Easter services, these showers should be in the area, so you’ll want to take the rain gear just in case if going out. Don’t be surprised if you see a few flakes mixing in.

Stormcast Sunday Morning

Understand that these showers will be very light and spotty in nature, so there will be dry periods. If you’re lucky, you may get a few hundredths of an inch of rain, but most will only see trace amounts.

After about Noon or 1PM, showers will be no more in eastern Nebraska. In fact, we’ll likely see the sun begin to poke out.

Easter Sunday Forecast

Due to morning clouds/rain, highs will be coolest in eastern Nebraska. We’re forecasting upper-40s in Lincoln. However, showers are less likely farther west. That, in addition to more sunshine, will help push highs into the 60s near the Tri-Cities.

Sunday Forecast

After Easter, we only have a few more days of cool weather. Temperatures return to near or above normal by the second half of the workweek.
