Stamp Out Hunger

It was the annual Stamp Out Hunger event happening at mailboxes all over the city.
“Stamp out hunger is an opportunity for the postal service to collect food for the food bank and for anybody within the community to help give back,” Eliot Siegman, manager of customer service with USPS, said.
The post office started handing out paper bags on Monday for people to fill up with food for the food bank.
On Saturday, more than 100 volunteers picked up those bags at people’s mailbox to deliver to the food bank later.
The USPS really enjoys giving back to the community.
“I feel we’re an important part of the community, and we reach every neighborhood, so again, knowing that, we’re happy to be a part of it,” Siegman said.
USPS has been doing this event for more than ten years, and they hope to continue.
