State officials promote wearing seat belts

State officials kicked off their fall campaign today, and they especially want to increase seat-belt usage at night.
The reason for that is because 70% of unbelted fatalities happen at night.
“People that don’t want to wear a seat belt simply think it’s their issue, it’s only them that’s going to be affected; but they’re going to leave a lot of people behind that are going to be impacted by the loss of that life,” said NE Highway Safety Administrator Fred Zwonechek.
To promote the campaign, 15 trucks will be wrapped in pictures telling people to fasten their seat-belt and showing bad car accidents.
