State Patrol finds marijuana inside TV, nets 100 pounds in five busts along I-80

Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested several people and seized 100 pounds of marijuana between five traffic stops along I-80 this week, the department said in a news release.

The stops occurred between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.

People from California, North Carolina, Maryland, Michigan, and Florida were arrested in the various busts.

In one bust near Kearney Wednesday morning, troopers found three pounds of marijuana hidden inside a large television, though an investigation revealed the driver did not know it was in there.

However, that same driver, Ryan Taylor, 35, of Florida, was found with other marijuana and a handgun and arrested, according to the release.

The busts uncovered amounts of marijuana ranging from two pounds to 85 pounds, the release said.
