State Patrol seizes more than 240 pounds of pot, other drugs

Two men were arrested and more than 240 pounds of drugs seized between two traffic stops by the Nebraska State Patrol this week. 

The first stop was on I-80 near Grand Island, where a K-9 unit detected an odor of marijuana coming from the trunk of a vehicle. 

The stop yielded 75 pounds of marijuana and 2.5 grams of meth. 

The driver of the vehicle, Ismael Murillo, a 38-year-old man from California, was arrested on numerous drug-related charges. 

 

The second stop was on I-80 near Lincoln, where drugs were once again discovered by a K-9 unit. 

That stop yielded 168 pounds of marijuana. 

NSP says Eaid Gheith, 19, of Illinois, was arrested on numerous drug-related charges and lodged in the Lancaster County Jail.
