Staying quite warm for a while
Scattered t’showers developing across southeast Nebraska were expected to be short lived, ending pretty much before sunrise. More scattered storms are possible mainly north of I-80 the rest of Tuesday.
Winds remain out of the south and southwest today, still picking up around 30 mph for a strong breeze.
Temperatures will remain quite warm for a while going forward. Lower 90s will be common for those in southeast Nebraska this Tuesday.
Those temperatures will be running about 10 degrees warmer than average highs at this point in September that are closer to the lower 80s.
Lower 90s will only inch toward the middle 80s by the weekend before slowly warming up early next week as well. The hotter, dry forecast has little going on to promote anything other than what we’ve been seeing lately.
Looking further out, the outlook for days eight through 14 are leaning above average at that point in the month as well.
There is a signal at this point to get some rainfall chances back in the forecast during that timeframe as a welcome change.
Nebraska is highlighted in the precipitation outlook in a lighter green, meaning we are leaning toward some above average rainfall.
