‘Still going to be the biggest fans’: Nebraskans reflect on women’s basketball season

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Husker fans showed out Friday night at the N Zone in downtown Lincoln as Nebraska faced Louisville in the NCAA tournament.
People had March Madness fever, enjoying their drinks and food and hoping Nebraska could pull off the upset.
But the Huskers lost a heartbreaker, cutting their season short.
“They should be proud,” Brittany Zimbleman said. “They made it this far; it’s a huge accomplishment.”
The fans still believe in this team moving forward and have high hopes for what’s to come.
“We’re all still going to be the biggest fans of Nebraska women’s basketball,” Steven Ramakers said. “The way they’ve grown this year and the way they’ve incorporated the young players, it’s probably been one of the better coaching jobs in the league.”
And they just love everything about being a part of the Husker fan base.
“I think it’s just the fans,” Nicole Peck. “Everyone is in full support of the Huskers.”
While Husker fans are sad to see this chapter end, they can now shift their attention to the men’s team, which will be playing at the end of the month in a new postseason tournament in Las Vegas.
