Forecast:
Much of southeastern and south-central Nebraska saw storms early Saturday morning with damaging winds being the main threat. The Lincoln airport reported a 91 mile per hour wind gust shortly before 5:30 a.m. CDT this morning.
Temperatures will be much cooler today as the cold front that brought us storms this morning moves through our area. We should see a little bit of sunshine this afternoon before storm chances return this evening.
High temperatures across the area will reach the middle and upper 80s on Saturday with a northeasterly wind between 5 and 10 miles per hour, gusting to 20.
Tonight, our low temperature in the Capital City will reach the lower 70s with partly cloudy skies. Storm chances increase after midnight.
High temperatures across southeast Nebraska on Sunday will drop into the upper 70s and lower 80s with a northerly wind. A morning round of storms will be possible, followed by partly sunny skies before storm chances increase again tomorrow evening.
After a small chance of showers on Monday morning, the rest of the forecast looks to dry out through the middle part of the month. Excellent weather for the first day back to school for all LPS students on Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 80s. Highs in the 90s return by the end of next week and continue through next weekend.
