Storm leaves more than 500 without power in Dorchester area

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Hundreds were without power Friday night after a severe storm swept through Saline County.

A Channel 8 viewer sent a photo showing a crumpled-up building in Dorchester, a village west of Crete.

Power poles were also leaning over.

At the peak of the outage, more than 600 Norris Public Power District customers in Saline County did not have power as of 9:20 p.m.

The worst outage was in the Dorchester area, where more than 500 customers were affected.

The village has a population of less than 600.

By early Saturday morning, the outage in Dorchester was fixed, according to NPPD’s outage map.
