Storms possible by Sunday evening

Extreme southeast Nebraska is along the far northern edge of a Marginal (level 1/5) risk for severe weather on Sunday night. A storm or two may produce strong winds that are borderline severe (~60 mph), mainly to the south.

The bigger picture: we are on the very northern edge of the severe risk. The best chance for severe weather is through Oklahoma and southeastern Kansas by Sunday evening.

Rain looks likely by Sunday evening. Most will be dry through 6 p.m., but rain chances pick up after that. The highest rain chance arrives in Lincoln after about 8 p.m. or so and sticks around overnight. Rain becomes more scattered a few hours before sunrise. Then, we dry out.

Stormcast shows widespread rain making it toward southeast Nebraska around 8 p.m. with some heavier pockets arriving by about 9 p.m. Those scattered showers at first will then turn to be more widespread near and after midnight (9 p.m. versus 12:30 a.m. shown below).

Most of us throughout southeast Nebraska to see some beneficial rainfall to come from this. Through Monday morning, models are showing a good chance for at least 0.5″ of rain in and around Lincoln, with upwards of 1″ or so along the Missouri River into southwest Iowa.

Then, we are left with gusty winds throughout the day on Monday. Winds will shift to be out of the northwest at 20-25 mph, with gusts of 35-40 mph possible.
