Storms possible through Friday; Quiet weekend

Showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue throughout our Friday morning. The spotty storms will have periods of on and off rain into the evening hours. While eastern Nebraska stays dry on Saturday, storm chances continue for the western half of the state. Warmer on Sunday with a chance for some sunshine.

Below average temperatures for July, our highs will only reach the mid to upper 70s. Mostly cloudy skies and continuous rain chances will keep us cool and comfortable this Friday.

 

Stormcast is forecasting a wave of precipitation and thunderstorms moving across the state throughout our Friday morning and afternoon. We will see pauses in the precipitation throughout our afternoon into evening while lingering storms continue before ultimately drying up for the overnight hours.

Excluding some NW counties much of Nebraska is in a Marginal Risk (level 1/5) for Severe Weather throughout Friday. Although the biggest risks are damaging wind speeds, locally heavy rainfall and large hail, strong to severe storms are possible. The Storm Alert Team is monitoring this system as it passes.
