Storms possible Wednesday morning and evening
Late tonight into Wednesday morning, a level 1 MARGINAL risk is in place. A few storms could become strong to severe due to gusty winds and small hail. Timing looks to be Midnight – 1PM Wednesday.
Stormcast shows a few storms entering the state near 1AM Tuesday. By 3AM, a few isolated storms develop on the Iowa/ Nebraska border. Close to 5- 6AM, storms will try and intensify in parts of northeast Nebraska with some entering the Omaha metro. Your morning commute could be wet by 7AM if traveling towards Omaha, as showers and thunderstorms will persist through 1PM. There will be a chance for some isolated showers and storms west of Lincoln Wednesday morning.
Wednesday, another MARGINAL risk is in place for most of the state. This is due to the morning storm potential and also Wednesday evening as some models have more isolated storm development Wednesday evening due to a low disturbance.
A few isolated storms could develop Wednesday evening in eastern Nebraska. This will depend on how much sun we see throughout the day and how hot temperatures get. This could put a decent CAP in the atmosphere, meaning storms will struggle to develop.
Tonight, low temperatures feeling a bit warm in the upper 60s for all of us.
Wednesday, high temperatures in the 80s and a few 90s depending on morning storms and cloud cover %. Temperatures will remain hot through Friday.
South winds will be gusting up to 20- 25 mph throughout your Wednesday afternoon.
