Storms return for Sunday.
Isolated storms are possible tonight in western and central Nebraska.
Chance for severe storms on Sunday are high.
Storms tomorrow could contain damaging winds.
Large hail is also a possibility.
Lows overnight will be warmer than normal.
Sunday’s highs will be on track for June 2nd.
Highs will remain in the 80’s for the next 10 days with storms likely tomorrow and nex6t Tuesday.
As a surface low tracks northeast through the region we might see a few isolated thunderstorms pop up this evening. Tomorrow a shortwave trough on the Nebraska/South Dakota border and a cold front sweeping in from the northwest will trigger thunderstorms that could be severe especially across portions of western into central Nebraska and Kansas. One of the main issues will be the threat of flooding as many areas are still trying to dry out from recent heavy rains. By Monday chances remain for storms but the overall threat is low. As we head into Tuesday another disturbance and strong cold front means the possibility of more severe weather. With the passage of the boundary Tuesday night by Wednesday we’ll see a large area of high pressure settling in followed by a stretch of drier conditions and a stable weather pattern.
