What Will Lincoln Do With All Its Fallen Trees?

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The city of Lincoln is reminding residents that all storm debris sites will close Sunday.

At 8 p.m., the following sites will close:

  • Woods Park
  • Star City Shores
  • Van Dorn Park
  • Oak Lake Park
  • Seng Park at University Place
  • Bowling Lake Park

Residents are reminded that downed trees and power lines can be addressed in the following ways:

  • For trees blocking city streets or sidewalks, contact the Lincoln Police Department at 402-441-6000. Do not call 911.
  • For public trees between the curb and sidewalk, contact the Parks and Recreation Community Forestry Section at 402-441-7847, ext. 0.
  • Residents can also report damage to public trees at UPLNK.lincoln.ne.gov or by using the UPLNK app.
  • Tree debris on private property is the responsibility of the property owner. For more information, visit lincoln.ne.gov/Landfill.
  • Branches and limbs should not be combined with yard waste.
