Limited rain chances on Monday
Despite some sunshine to start the day, cloud cover continued to build as Sunday progressed. By late afternoon, a few storms were able to move through portions of southeast Nebraska.
The afternoon rain stabilized air in eastern Nebraska to some extent, reducing storm chances on Sunday evening for most of southeast Nebraska. As a result, severe storms that moved through the state on Sunday evening did so primarily west of the Tri-Cities.
While the severe activity remains out west on Sunday evening, Lincoln may see some scattered showers on Sunday night. We keep mostly cloudy skies overnight and into Monday morning. A scattered morning shower on Monday cannot be ruled out. Lows should be in the low to mid-60s in Lincoln.
We expect a mix of sun and clouds on Monday. Much of eastern Nebraska may find itself dry for most of the day, including Lincoln. An isolated pop-up thunderstorm is not out of the question during the afternoon. Chances are, you’ll be able to dodge these, and that is if they’re even able to develop in the first place. High temperatures should be near 80° in Lincoln.
More scattered storms are possible on Tuesday. We enter a short-lived break from the storminess starting Wednesday. We stay dry on Wednesday, and for much of the day on Thursday. However, storm chances increase once again late Thursday.
